Immune-Booster

Beetroot – A Superfood

To be honest, I’ve never been a particularly big fan of beetroot. I thought they tasted earthy and should actually be sweeter (like raspberries) because of their intense colour. However, our taste can change all the time. It’s a process that lasts a lifetime. And so it was with me and the pink-coloured beetroot.

When I switched to a plant-based diet, I started to look more closely at the positive properties of different foods again. Beetroot is one of the superfoods, mainly because of its ability to strengthen our immune system. And the best thing: It is a Swiss local vegetable that ends up on our plates, or in this case in our glass, without traveling long distances. Why not try some pink Gold yourself? By the way, the glass on the picture is from Drinks.ch: https://www.drinks.ch/de/nachtmann-noblesse-whiskyglaser-4er-set.html

Recipe for two glasses of pink Gold

Ingredients:
– 1 organic beetroot, raw
– 1 pink grapefruit (organic, if possible)
– 1 organic carrot
– 3 organic dates
– 1 small piece of ginger

Chop all the ingredients and put them in a slow juicer. The juice tastes sweet and a little sour and has a bright pink colour.
